Parent communication

We communicate with our parents and carers in every way possible, and keep them up to date with their child’s experiences and progress every step of the way.
Apart from enjoying lovely relationships with all our parents and carers, where staff are friendly and open for parents to talk to at any time throughout their child’s time at nursery, we also provide the following:

Online updates

Throughout each session, every parent/carer receives daily notifications to their phone with information about their child’s day at nursery including what they have eaten and how much, what activities they have been up to, their achievements, and for the younger ones; how long they have slept, nappy changes or been to the toilet.

Daily photo & video observation emails

Each child has an online Learning Journal where photo and video observations are taken of each child on a daily basis to evidence their development throughout the seven different areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Every time an observation is made by a member of staff, each parent/carer is sent an email, so that they can view the observation online and get to see a real snap shot of their child at nursery that day.

Written progress reports

Every six months, each child’s key worker writes a report on how that child is developing throughout the seven different areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage. This is emailed out to each parent/carer for them to read and give feedback on.

Focus week meetings

Focus meetings are held with parents approximately twice a term. This is a lovely opportunity for parents and carers to come into nursery and speak to their child’s key worker about their child’s time and development at nursery.

Questionnaires

We really appreciate the value of feedback – good or bad! We therefore send out regular questionnaires to parents/carers and staff – we even do special ones with the children!
