Children’s Baking

Weekly baking in the rooms

We take part in weekly baking sessions in all our age range rooms. We don’t stick to the usual baking we like to explore different and exciting things!

Amongst the exciting recipes our children have tackled is:

  • Blueberry Bread
  • ‘Gruffalo’ Crumble
  • Flapjack – made on the campfire
  • Cinnamon apples – baked on the campfire
  • Gluten & Dairy Free cheese scones
  • Apple Tiffin cake
  • Cheesy twists
  • Spring rolls
  • Fruit kebabs

Children experience safe knife skills with staff supervision to enable them to learn new skills. Grasping and using a knife helps with their Palmar Grasp for that important pencil grasp when they move to school. We also grow and harvest our own fruit and vegetables which we include in our cooking.
